Well, actually, it begins again. This is the second effort at collecting One Million Splotz of Glue. The first effort started (and poofed) in 2002 but more about that later.
Growing up I ran with a group whose motto was, “Saving the World in Our Spare Time.” A few months ago, I realized that it will be 2010 in just a few years and that saving the world needed to be a higher priority. So, I left my career to dedicate myself to collecting Splotz of Glue full time.
Right then, shall we?
I shall endeavor to collect, catalogue, and contemplate One Million Splotz of Glue. I will, with your help, collect Splotz of Glue from neighborhoods around the world and I will post them here. At this point I plan to do the blunt force trauma thing and “blog” each one here on the site.
I am not sure how I will catalogue them. My initial thought is that I will organize them around community building concepts of learning, trust, relationships, and civic action. One of the outputs of this One Million Splotz of Glue campaign is this rich tapestry (array?) of Splotz. I do not know what to expect from it, but I believe that it will be transformative.
I need help developing a better databasing and reporting system for this.
It did not work the first time and I want it to work this time. It is an incomplete idea, but one that I believe is a good one.
Will you help?
