Thanks to our MySpace, uhm, space we get a MySplotz from a new friend. chingpea writes:
what do i do to help build a community? i’m a third party in Noveltown with N.L. Belardes and Matildakay. we’re working together to build an awareness of the arts - especially with literary works. we have magazine due out at the end of this month and we’re tossing around ideas on how to participate with the local junior college and adult literacy council to motivate others to contribute and be a part of the literary arts in their community.
i’m also a member of the filipino community in delano, ca where i was born and raised. i still work with them occasionally on several projects that help maintain our historical hall and building scholarships for our youth who want to help build the community as well as learn more about their culture.
i have a bi-racial daughter as well and i’m doing whatever i can to make her aware of who she is and where she comes from. i want to be proud of all of that and i feel that by what i choose to do and participate in , it shows/influences her to be strong, individual.
That is beautiful. Thank you for all that you do. I am very glad to meet you. Thank you for the Splotz. We have four. Only 999,996 more to go.
What do you do to build community?
